A Letter to SCOTUS
Dear Supreme Court Justices,
You may be thinking that I am among the millions who wish to admonish you about the decision you made to criminalize homelessness. But rest assure, this letter is meant to do the contrary.
I am here to congratulate you on your superb job at ensuring the protection of the Masters house-- for I know who you serve.
You are doing an amazing job as an overseer to the Masters house. You have ensured that Master will never go hungry so long as it has the slaves needed to fuel her hungry machine.
After all, don't you control the Klan members that feed slaves into the criminal justice system. Aren't you the protectors of the very system that keeps Master alive and happy.
Keep up the good work SCOTUS!
But, with these congratulations comes a prayer.
I pray that your descendants never know the pains of starvation from a hungry world. I pray that they never know the fear of housing insecurity in a world that can cure homelessness. I pray that you or your loved ones never make Master angry enough to look for new overseers. Most importantly, I pray that the premonition of Octavia Butler in Parable of the Sower never truly comes to pass.
If it does, we all might just join the slave class while Master enjoys his house.
Sincerely yours,
A future slave
